Five leaves, the hipsterest place in Greenpoint / Five leaves, el lugar más hipster de Greenpoint
If I just have the chance to describe one restaurant as a hipster I would definitely choose Five Leaves. Main reason because it was open for Heath Ledger ( the guy who acted in Brokeback Mountain and was the boyfriend of Michel Williams, but lets stop the gossips) Second reason is because the stuff who work there is like from a runway hipster show, all of them have so much style and they dress very cool. And of course the decoration is perfect. My favorite dish is the steamd Steamed Mussels with saffron coconut sauce, chilies, scallions & grilled sourdough ($14) and the Grapefruit Margarita (around $10). And if you go in a sunny day you should try to get a table in the sidewalk. The only minus is most of the time the waiting line is about 30 minutes but for me is worth it.
Si sólo pudiera eligir un lugar para clasificarlo como hipster, ese sin duda sería Five leaves. La razon principal es porque el dueño era Heath Ledger (el actor de Brokeback Mountain y también fue el novio de la actriz Michel Williams) fue quien abrió este lugar. La segunda razón es porque la gente que atiende desborda en estilo, como si fueran sacados de una pasarela y por supuesto la decoración está muy bien pensada. Mi plato favorito es Steamed Mussels with saffron coconut sauce, chilies, scallions & grilled sourdough ($14) and the Grapefruit Margarita (around $10), El único pero es que la mayoría de las veces hay que esperar unos 30 minutos para que te den una mesa, pero para mí vale la pena.
